Deltarune Fight Simulator

Six SOULs, a keyboard, and the Omega Flowey fight

Next boss

pp920921 built this recreation of the boss that grows in once a Neutral Route has finished with Asgore. Keep a keyboard on the desk before you hit Play. Inside the Scratch project, filling the monitor is coded as a loss.

Omega Flowey gameplay framed as a Deltarune Fight Simulator card: television face, white X pellets, and cactus arms.

Direction keys, a Temmie hint, and a monitor that ends it

Movement is the four direction keys. Confirming a prompt is Z, and that same key is what picks FIGHT or ACT during the short stretches when either prompt is drawn.

Growing the box with the button under the stage is only a browser resize. It does not send that loss. Touchscreens are a dead end for the dodge. Every listed input is a key.

Keys stay dead until the poster has been used to start the project and the live picture has been selected. Two hidden extras are called out in the instructions. The hint is written "TTTTTTTem flakes," Temmie's spelling for the T key.

The same instructions shout about lag and about bugs. Those two warnings were typed by pp920921. Should the fight collapse because the stage was blown up to the monitor, use Restart once the project has already begun, and hit the picture again so the keys reconnect.

One captured moment in this build prints "File 3 saved" while X pellets are still on screen, with the red SOUL among them.

A red SOUL stands among white X pellets under Omega Flowey while the battle prints File 3 saved, with a yellow and red HP bar.

Names the battle never prints

He makes his move only after Asgore's battle on a Neutral Route. Six human SOULs go into him, the save screen fractures, and the face on the other side of that crack still wants a seventh. The earlier chat in the Ruins, pellets and all, is a separate scene and a short one.

No caption in the encounter spells Omega Flowey. Objects tied to the form are prefixed floweyx in the files. The other name, Photoshop Flowey, comes from a Neutral credits line for Everdraed that reads "Photoshop Flowey Battle Co-design" and breaks after Photoshop, so a reader can split it into two jobs or hear it as one title. One place the Omega wording shows up is the tarot card Fangamer printed. Everdraed has used that wording too. Toby Fox has said merchandise is not canon, and during the tenth anniversary stream he and Everdraed both keep saying Omega Flowey anyway.

Beat him once and a fresh Neutral run leaves the giant form packed away. He still counts on the SOULs turning against him, and the television, the tubes, and the cactus arms never come back.

How the passes actually arrive

There is no ordinary command grid of FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, and SPARE. The round is a dodge, and those two prompts appear only for the beats that need them. HP stays pinned at 50 for the whole encounter, with LV left out of the math.

The humans interrupt six times. Their bullets can wound you and are not allowed to kill you. When ACT finally shows, it is a shout for help. Leave it alone and that human comes around again after his attacks. Take it, and the pattern flips green and starts giving HP back.

Eyes own the opening pass and the fourth. The lower pair sprays seven X-shaped pellets in a wide fan. The upper pair sprays them as triplets crowded around you. Brief fire bursts from beside the arms. A circle strobes, friendliness pellets trace it, and those pellets then shoot away along the circle's paths. Vines paint a flashing aim-line on you. About a fifth of those vine patterns run long enough for the mouth under the monitor to cut a beam across the center. Once he is weakened that beam never fires, because every attack is chopped short.

Plants own the second pass and the sixth. One cactus hand grows a flytrap that sucks flies inward. Bombs fall from above, deal damage on contact, and explode on the floor. Stems ending in finger-guns enter from the sides, his face sitting on the fingertips. Three toothy rings called dentata rebound off the walls, then fly off.

Pass three, and pass five after it, drop down to the upper eyes plus the vines. Between a pair of those attacks he may store FILE 2. A clean dodge lets him load that file and catch you standing where you felt safe. A second clean dodge and he does not load it again.

The six humans attack with the gear associated with them. Light blue sends knives on a slanted path, then green bandages with a heart. Orange sends spinning gloves, then a green thumbs-up. Blue pins you under stars while ballet shoes rise and fall, then turns the stars into notes. Purple walls you in with books that scroll harsh words, among them DEATH and DESPAIR, then swaps those for kinder ones, among them LIFE and HOPE. Green flips fire out of pans, then fried eggs. Yellow aims a gun with a red crosshair, then four-petal flowers. Somewhere in each pattern the ACT prompt replaces one shot.

Once all six shouts for help have landed, defense hits 0. The pellets thin out and slow down, the green heals continue, and your hits start harder and keep climbing. After roughly sixty seconds the plant pass becomes the only pass left. While FIGHT or ACT is on the canvas in this build, Z is the key that takes it.

Omega Flowey's television face hangs over cactus arms while white X pellets fill the screen above a yellow and red HP bar.
Three green dentata with pink stitched centers pass in front of Omega Flowey, and a red HP bar sits at the bottom.

Checkmarks in the instruction block

Read the instruction block and the finished checkmarks cover his own patterns, the human patterns, and the ending, each one spanning phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The 31 July update says the wild finale pattern was completed. The 4 August update says bugs got fixed.

If you want a sequence the author calls complete, skip the bit named "You IDIOT": it is still tagged as work in progress at roughly three quarters. Toby Fox is thanked in the description, beside a link to a finale dual mix.

roaringknightfight.com has its own embed of pp920921's project. The rest of the roster runs the Chaos King, Lancer, Jevil, Spamton NEO, Sans, the Chapter 3 Knight, and the Black Knife.

Dodge tips for the six-soul flower

Direction keys move. Z takes FIGHT or ACT on the short stretches when either prompt is drawn. The real battle is not turn-based. You dodge the whole time, and you always have 50 HP, whatever your LV was. pp920921 marks phases 1 through 6, the human segments, and the finale as done.

  • Phases 1 and 4 belong to the eyes and the arms. The lower eyes fire seven X-shaped bullets in a wide arc. The upper eyes fire triplets around you. The arm flamethrowers loose three blasts. A red and yellow flashing circle collapses into pellets, so step out of that ring. Vines are marked by flashing lines. Get off the line. A blue glow in the second head's mouth is a laser across the center, and it only comes after vines.
  • Phases 2 and 6 are the plants. A flytrap pulls flies in, so stay away from the mouth. Bombs fall and explode at the bottom, and the bomb itself hurts before it bursts. Finger-gun stems shoot from the left and the right. Three dentata snakes bounce off the walls a few times.
  • Phases 3 and 5 keep only the eyes and the vines, and he saves to a file between attacks. If you dodge, he reloads to catch you standing where you felt safe. He only does that once per pair.
  • A TV warning and a siren mean a human SOUL. Those bullets can hurt you and are not allowed to kill you. Find the ACT button hidden in the pattern and press it. Skip it and that same SOUL comes back. After ACT, the bullets turn green and heal.
  • Light blue throws knives. Orange throws gloves. Blue throws ballet shoes under a star ceiling. Purple scrolls words. Green throws pans and fireballs. Yellow aims a gun. Each set resembles one of the fallen humans' weapons.
  • After all six souls, his defense hits 0 and the pellets weaken for about a minute, then the plant patterns return. You can take roughly 13 hits before a death. Damage hits harder at high HP, and the heals are bigger when you are low.

FAQ

Do I pay anything before the first dodge?

Opening it costs nothing. The Scratch project was published free by pp920921, and the Play control is how that project starts.

When is the battle file actually requested?

Until Play, the frame holds a poster and does not request the battle. gamebox.bvnplay.online is contacted only by that click. The keys begin working after one more click, on the battle that is already running.

What can a campus filter still refuse?

Filters at a school or an office can still cut off deltarunefight.com, and they can cut off gamebox.bvnplay.online, the host that actually delivers the battle after Play.

Why does a phone fail this dodge, and when can a Chromebook finish?

A phone has nowhere to put this control scheme. Direction keys steer, and Z takes a prompt. Classroom laptops that include a keyboard, Chromebooks among them, can see the dodge through. Nothing in the note describes a finger pad.

Which of the two names does the encounter actually letter onto the screen?

Players reach for either Omega Flowey or Photoshop Flowey when they mean the six-SOUL form that follows Asgore. The encounter never lettered the first of those names onto the screen. The second name is the credits reading, and it is also how the photographed artwork got talked about. Keep that boss separate from the brief flower who greets you among the ruins.

What separates this six-SOUL form from the fan game's flower?

Undertale Yellow's closing Flowey, the one players call Meta Flowey, is Clover's fight inside his mind and belongs to another game. It lives on the Undertale Yellow Flowey page. Stay here for the Undertale boss.

What do I press when a human SOUL attacks Omega Flowey?

Find the ACT button mixed into the bullets and press it. Z is the confirm key in this project while that prompt is on screen. If you skip it, the same SOUL repeats. After you take it, the bullets turn green and start giving HP back.
