Asgore fight simulator: the king at the barrier

Next boss

A poster holds the spot until you hit Play. Once the battle loads, click it once more so the arrow keys and Z reach the king's fight.

The exact Asgore package tested here

This is jumpy8029's project 110762564, not the official UNDERTALE encounter and not another author's Asgore remake. On 22 October 2026 we played its opening turns in a desktop Chromium browser and read the hosted project's source. Its project fingerprint starts d7d17549656f4f15. The test stopped before a victory; the screenshots show an actual missed attempt, a later landed hit, and an early fire pattern rather than a claimed full clear.

At launch the two orange counters are easy to confuse. Asgore starts at 20000 in the upper-left box. Your HP is 20 at the lower right. The source resets those values explicitly. Treating an official-game boss stat as the target here produces the wrong expectation about how long the fight takes.

Three buttons, a target, then the timing bar

  • Press Play, launch the green-flag screen, and click the game if it does not have keyboard focus. Arrows choose FIGHT, ACT or ITEM; Z confirms; B returns from the relevant selection screen.
  • Choose FIGHT, confirm the target, and watch the moving line on the green/yellow meter. A separate Z press stops the attack. Keep your eyes on the middle, not on the boss animation above it.
  • Do not wait for a screenshot, another tab, or a long pause while the line is already moving. One late test input produced no boss damage but still advanced into the enemy response.
  • After the enemy response ends, locate your current HP before selecting the next action. The page itself does not add an automatic heal between turns.

A later timed attempt reduced Asgore from 20000 to 19851, a 149-point hit. The source calculates attack damage from the meter and additional state, so 149 is an observation, not the best possible hit or a guaranteed result. The fire-turn capture in the next section shows the 19851 counter during the following dodge.

Asgore at 20000 HP above the moving fight meter, with player HP 20.

Read the early fire turn as space, not a race

The captured early dodge has a smaller square box and white fireballs approaching the red SOUL from the sides. Leave enough room to change direction. A short correction toward a gap is easier to recover from than holding a direction until you reach a wall. Arrows moved the SOUL during this session; there was no virtual joystick to rescue an unfocused keyboard.

The first failed timing attempt left our player HP at 10 after the enemy response while Asgore was still at 20000. This is the practical cost of spending a whole attack opportunity without landing damage. Once your health is low, learning the meter and maintaining a central escape route is more useful than assuming you can trade another full round of hits.

Source review confirms that the fire collision handlers subtract the current Asgore Attack variable, initialized to 5. The project also contains hand and colored-spear scripts. The blue/orange branches test arrow-key activity as part of collision handling; they were not played through in this opening session. We therefore do not promise an exact later attack order or an official-game no-hit route.

White fireballs approach the red SOUL; Asgore has 19851 HP and the player has 10.

Items, recovery and verification limits

The source contains a Pie handler that restores HP to 20 and an item-consumption flag that prevents repeating the same item path. That is source evidence only: we did not complete an item route or establish the safest healing turn. Do not replace a tested item plan with the full game's inventory or dialogue rules.

If the game appears stuck on launch, the author warns that starting may need another green-flag attempt. On this site, reload the page and repeat Play only after checking that it is not simply waiting at a target or dialogue choice. See browser game help. For a shorter party-menu practice battle, compare Lancer; for a yellow SOUL and a ratings display, compare Mettaton EX. These are different fan builds, not difficulty presets for this one.

FAQ

Is 20000 the player's health?

No. In this package, the orange number at the upper left starts at Asgore's 20000 HP. Your own HP starts at 20 at the lower right. Our timed hit left the upper-left counter at 19851.

Which key cancels?

B, not an assumed X shortcut. The author lists arrows, Z and B, and the Soul menu scripts contain a B-key return. During the dodge, arrows move the SOUL.

Where is MERCY?

The playable command row in this package has FIGHT, ACT and ITEM. Do not expect the presence or absence of an ending option in the original game to prove this fan build's ending behavior.

Does a hit always cost five HP?

The default source damage variable is 5, and our early turns lost HP in five-point steps. Other source handlers can change that variable; this short test does not establish every buff or later attack.

Can I play without a keyboard?

No touch pad was found in the tested package. Use a physical keyboard. We checked page layout on narrow screens, not a complete mobile gameplay session.
