Deltarune Text Box Generator and Undertale Text Box Generator
Type a line the way a battle speaks. This Deltarune text box generator draws the Dark World frame. Switch to the Undertale frame, the plain white box from the Underground.
Pick a face or leave the box empty, then save a PNG at the native pixel size, or at 2x and 3x with hard edges.

Your words stay in this tab's memory, not in the URL or a saved draft. Copy tool link shares only the empty tool; use a PNG to share your finished box. Reloading clears your words.
A practical guide to this generator
This is a small, local drawing tool, not an editor for a saved DELTARUNE or UNDERTALE game. It turns a short piece of writing into a black dialogue panel with a pixel portrait and exports the visible panel as a PNG. We checked the current tool on 22 October 2026 with short text, multiple pages, empty text, frame changes, and the three download sizes. The advice here describes this implementation, rather than promising an exact copy of either game's dialogue renderer.
1. Decide what one panel needs to say
Start with one action or one reaction: a warning before an attack, a reply from a character, or a sign at a doorway. A short sentence is easier to read at phone size than a complete paragraph squeezed across several panels. The sample about stepping closer to the boss is a useful starting point. Replace its words, then read the preview before changing the portrait or frame. That separates a writing problem from a layout problem.
2. Choose the frame before finalizing the line breaks
The Deltarune option draws a pale inner edge and small corner jewels. The Undertale option draws a simpler white border. Both use a native 640 by 168 pixel canvas, but their inner padding differs slightly. Changing the frame can therefore change a wrap near the edge. Finish the wording with the intended frame selected. These are fan-made styles, not screenshots extracted from a game, and the tool does not insert a new scene into a game file.
3. Use a portrait only when it helps the speaker
Lumen and Bramble are the tool's original color portraits; Ink and Quill are original black-and-white portraits. They are not alternate names for official characters. No portrait removes the face and gives the words more horizontal room. Try that option for a narrator, sign, or longer description. A face is drawn on a fixed pixel grid; choosing it does not change the export size. It changes the space available to the words, so inspect every page again after switching faces or removing the portrait.
4. Understand wrapping, stars, and blank lines
Each panel holds three rows. Words wrap according to their measured width in the loaded font, not a fixed character count. A long word without spaces is split when it cannot fit. Repeated spaces and tabs inside a paragraph are normalized, while a typed newline starts a new paragraph. An empty paragraph still uses a row. If a nearly empty extra page appears, check for a trailing newline before deleting useful words.
Start lines with * adds an asterisk to each paragraph, and wrapped rows align underneath the words rather than the star. A manually typed leading asterisk also counts as a star; turning the checkbox off does not remove one you typed yourself. Use the checkbox for consistent spoken paragraphs, or clear it and remove manual stars for a plain sign. Avoid adding spaces by hand to align a second row: the renderer already handles that indent.
5. Check all pages before exporting
Previous and Next move through the rendered panels, and the page indicator tells you which one is on screen. A fourth row does not shrink the font; it moves to the next page. Editing the text or changing the frame, face, or star setting returns you to the first page. Download saves only the selected page, not every page as a bundle. For a three-panel exchange, export the first panel, move to the second, and repeat. Rename those files after downloading if your browser gives repeated exports the same base filename.
6. Pick a useful export size
Download 1x produces 640 by 168 pixels, 2x produces 1280 by 336, and 3x produces 1920 by 504. Scaling uses whole-number enlargement without smoothing, so the drawn pixels keep hard edges. Choose 1x for a native-size asset or 2x/3x when you need a larger image in a presentation or post. Stretching an exported PNG to an arbitrary size in another editor can blur those edges again. Each export also includes a small deltarunefight.com label at the lower right; leave that area clear of anything you plan to crop closely.
7. Typewriter is a preview, not an animation export
Typewriter reveals the visible panel gradually. It does not make a GIF or video. Downloads and Copy image render the complete selected page even if the preview has not finished typing. A device's reduced-motion preference disables the gradual reveal. If you need a particular final line break, turn Typewriter off while editing so you can compare the complete panel immediately. A continuation arrow can appear when another page follows; that arrow is part of the drawing, not a clickable control inside the PNG.
8. Keep private writing out of shared links
The counter has a 180-unit limit. Some symbols, including many emoji, use more than one JavaScript text unit, so the counter is not always the same as the number of visible characters. The supplied Tiny5 subset is intended for Latin text; unsupported scripts or symbols can use a fallback or render inconsistently. Preview them rather than assuming every language has identical metrics. The tool has no draft save or restore feature: reloading returns to the sample, and Copy tool link shares only the tool address.
The tool page does not load Google Analytics or AdSense, and it does not upload your line. A downloaded or copied image does contain the words you drew, so review it before sharing it elsewhere. Old text-bearing links are no longer imported. This prevents the tool from generating new text URLs; it cannot remove an old URL from somebody else's history or an earlier hosting request. See the Privacy Policy for that distinction.
9. When a preview or copy fails
The font loads from this site. Give it a moment before judging the first wrap; if it fails, the fallback can look different. Image copying depends on browser clipboard support and permission, so a successful PNG download is the more portable fallback. We do not claim clipboard success in every browser. If a preview is blank, make sure JavaScript is enabled, try a short Latin sentence, and report your browser and frame choice through Contact. Do not include a private draft in the report.
FAQ
What is a Deltarune text box generator?
A Deltarune text box generator draws the Dark World frame: a white border, a black fill, a purple inner edge, and a small jewel in each corner. Put an original color face on the left, the way a Darkner speaks, or leave the box empty.
How is an Undertale text box generator different?
An Undertale text box generator uses the classic white frame and black fill, with no corner jewels. A spoken line opens with an asterisk, and a wrapped row lines up under the words. Clear the star when you want a bare sign or menu.
What happens when my line is too long?
The box keeps three rows, then the rest waits on the next page. Previous and Next move between those pages. Download saves only the page on screen, at 1x, 2x, or 3x, with hard pixels.
Can the box use Susie, Ralsei, or Noelle's face?
No. The faces here are original: Lumen and Bramble in color, like a Darkner, and Ink and Quill in black and white, like a Lightner. In the games, Susie and Noelle talk with black-and-white portraits, and Ralsei and Lancer with color ones. Pick No portrait for words only.
